Of course, the smartphone has made our life easier, but some of its dangerous effects have also come out. Teenagers who spend more time on smartphones and other electronic screens can be at risk of becoming depressed and appear to be suicidal tendencies.
Researchers from Florida State University in the US said that the amount of time you spend on a smartphone should be considered as a threat to depression and suicide. Thomas Joyner of the University said, there is a worrisome connection between spending plenty of time watching screens and threats of suicide, depression, suicide, and suicide attempts.
He said, all these mental health issues are very serious. I think parents should consider this. Researchers found that 48 percent of adolescents who spent 5 or more hours per day on electronic devices showed suicidal tendencies.
In comparison, 28 percent of the children reaching adolescents who spend less than an hour on electronic equipment were seen to have such tendencies. This study has been published in Journal Clinical Psychological Science.
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there has been a surprising increase in rates of depression and suicides among teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18, since 2010. There are more girls in this. The study has been shown to cause excessive use of electronic equipment.
